Non-compulsory and yet very popular with the dinghy, monohull, and multihull sailing practitioners, safety vest systems are specific and designed not to obstruct the crew's movements while ensuring good safety for the crew in the event of a boat capsizing or an incident. The trapeze harness (or vest) allows crew members to attach to the mast-mounted trapeze system, most often along with the main shrouds. They are giving them the possibility of compensating for the "heel" effect of your dinghy by exerting an effective counterweight, in addition to or replacing the return device installed in the lower part of the hull. The objective is to allow the helmsman and your crew members to maintain the boat's attitude by keeping the sails as close as possible and quickly and sustainably reaching the maximum speed of the ship. This trapeze system is used mainly upwind, and lateral, where the force to compensate for the inclination of the helmet is the most important. In competitive or recreational conditions, it is recommended that each crew member wear one to change locations quickly.
